1955
In 1955, Stuart and his companions, equipped with a pair of skis, made a few playful turns on a Rwenzori glacier, which inspired him to write a humorous article in a local newspaper and established the Ski Club of Uganda. The logo displayed on the website is the original logo designed by Stuart for the Ski Club of Uganda.
1984
Ned Gillette, an American Olympic cross-country skier, expedition skier, mountaineer, and ocean rower, embodied the spirit of adventure. In 1984, he became the first to telemark ski down Aconcagua, South America's highest peak, sparking his quest to explore unique skiing challenges on other continents. Among other things this led him to cross the Ruwenzori mountains by ski in the eighties.

1996
In 1996, Dominic Richard, along with his companion Philip Trümpler, successfully snowboarded on Mount Rwenzori, marking a rare achievement in the tropical mountains of Africa. After navigating challenging terrain and local superstitions, the duo reached the snow-covered summit and enjoyed a memorable, technically demanding descent.

2007
Nicole Dreon embarks on her second attempt to ski the vanishing snowfields of the Rwenzori Mountains, facing unexpected challenges as swollen rivers and the harsh terrain underscore the difficulty of her mission. Despite the dangers and obstacles, she remains driven by her obsession to ski these remote and rapidly disappearing glaciers in one of Africa’s most challenging and unique landscapes.
2010
In 2010, Justin Long successfully summited Margherita Peak on Mount Rwenzori, enduring harsh weather and icy conditions. Despite challenges, he achieved his goal of skiing on the glacier, marking a significant adventure in his mountaineering journey.
2013
In 2013 the ski club of Kongo, embarked on the adventure to ski the Rewenzori mountains. The club consists of Lewis Mudge, serving as President for life, Andrew Mudge, Luigi MacBrayne, Daniel Klink and Michael McDonnell.
2015
In July, Christer Henning and Jimmy Petterson ventured to Uganda with the goal of skiing in the Rwenzori Mountains, known as the "mountains of the moon." Despite Uganda's challenges, they found it to be a safe and captivating destination, blending wildlife exploration with their adventurous skiing mission.
2017
During an ambitious climb-and-ski expedition on Uganda’s Margherita Peak, Brody Leven and his team encountered significant challenges, including the arson of their camps. Despite these obstacles, the team pressed on, driven by the unique experience of skiing one of Africa’s last remaining glaciers.

In 2017 Matt McCullough embarked on an adventurous climb in the Rwenzori Mountains, facing challenges including difficult snow conditions, an intense summit climb, and treacherous river crossings. Despite the hurdles, you experienced the beauty of the mountains and ended the trek with a joyful, nostalgic run down the trail.
2018
In 2018 Martyn Pollock summited the Margeritha Peak. Following in the footsteps of Dominic and Philip, Martyn embarked on this endeavour using his snowboard to snowboard down the glacier.
